Catherine and Ziad’s love story began one afternoon in Medellín, Colombia. She was working in a café… and so was he. What Catherine didn’t know was that, from his table, Ziad had already noticed her and felt the urge to talk to her. When she left the café, he approached her and asked for her number but she, a little cautious, gave him her Instagram instead.

A few days later, they started talking, and their first dates were captivating. They spoke about everything: the world, politics, music, art, their family values, and deep philosophical topics about life. From the very start it was clear that they were both different and their union together would make a unique and formidable team.

Months went by, and, to be honest, Catherine thought the relationship wouldn’t work… Ziad traveled a lot, and she didn’t believe in long-distance relationships. However, one day, he returned to Colombia with the certainty and confidence that define him: he didn’t want to be apart from her again. With a beautiful bouquet of flowers in hand, he asked her to be his girlfriend, and that was when their real adventure together began.

Since then, they’ve lived a whirlwind of experiences: they traveled to Mexico, the United States, Brazil, and spent two months in Europe; they took painting and piano lessons; they met each other’s families, filled with love, values, culture, art, and music. Later on, Ziad decided to take their relationship to the next level and proposed. By then, both of them were certain about building a life together, focused on starting a family, inspiring each other to become better every day, growing as a couple, and working hand in hand toward their goals.

And as part of that shared love, Ziad also adopted all of Catherine’s animals —including the cows and the bees— especially Balin, who became their “couple’s therapist” and the most spoiled member of the household.

Today, Catherine and Ziad can say that their lives have changed in the most wonderful way. They have lived beautiful and inspiring moments, traveled the world hand in hand, laughed until they cried, held each other through tears, and grown more than they ever imagined. With full hearts and absolute certainty, they are ready to share the rest of their lives together.
